Inauguration of manufacturing facility for VRLA Batteries at Ranjangaon (Pune)
May 18 2015, marked the entry of TGY into VRLA battery segment for two-wheelers. The new facility will manufacture 3 AH, 3.5 AH and 5 AH batteries which will be marketed under the brand name ‘Tata Green Batteries – Velocity Plus’.
Toru Bomoto-san, Director of GS Yuasa flagged the first consignment of Velocity Plus VRLA Batteries and expressed his complete support with latest technology to deliver long-lasting, durable batteries in India. Ajay Tandon, MD & CEO, Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd., acknowledged the launch as a major step to address the evolving automotive market while matching global standards and local conditions.
Arijit Dutta, CEO, Tata AutoComp GY Batteries said that the batteries are technologically superior, safe and suitable for most two-wheeler brands. They have been developed keeping in mind the recent shift the industry has seen from conventional to VRLA batteries in the two-wheeler segment. |
